Clash of the tennis titans A stalwart supporter of tennis in Hong Kong, Zung Fu once again sponsored the Watsons Water Champions Challenge from January 4-7, 2006. The popular tournament consistently draws some of the biggest names in women's tennis, and this year was no exception with eight star players flying in to take part. Zung Fu reserved the best boxes in the Victoria Park for 24 of its prestigious customers and their families to enjoy the matches in comfort and style. As usual, Zung Fu also sponsored Mercedes-Benz vehicles as the official cars transporting the players between the venue and their hotels. The event hosted the world's top players in women's tennis today. They included: crowd favorite and world No. 3 Lindsay Davenport from the US; the Williams sisters, Venus and Serena, also from the US; US Open Champion Kim Clijsters from Belgium; Russian stars Nicole Vaidisova and Elena Dementieva; up and comers Zheng Jie from China and Sania Mirza from India. All eight players competed in the first round, then the four winners -- Davenport, Venus Williams, Dementieva and Clijsters -- advanced to the Gold Group semi-finals. After two very exciting matches, the final showdown was between Davenport and Clijsters.
