The New Mercedes-Benz B-Class and R-Class
Premiered at Shatin Racecourse

Continuing the splendid heritage of Mercedes-Benz as a leader in the automobile industry, Mercedes-Benz China Limited is introducing to the Hong Kong market the new Compact Sports Tourer (B-Class) and the Grand Sports Tourer (R-Class). A spectacular press conference was held on November 21, 2005 in the Parade Ring at Hong Kong's Shatin Racecourse.

The B-Class and the R-Class are the models of a new vehicle concept which is the very definition of perfection, representing decades of Mercedes-Benz expertise, craftsmanship and technology. To underline the models' groundbreaking designs, the launch made full use of the parade ring, which was elaborately and exclusively decorated, to highlight the B-Class and the R-Class as versatile, spacious and dynamic. With videos shown on the racecourse's giant screen, this dynamic showcase of the new vehicles impressed guests and media representatives.

Ms Jutta Aulich, Chief Operating Officer of Mercedes-Benz China Limited, remarked: "Both the B-Class and the R-Class combine the advantages of familiar vehicle concepts such as a sporty saloon, estate, MPV and Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) to create the new categories in their own rights. With these two new models, Mercedes-Benz has once again written a new chapter in automotive history. I am confident that our Hong Kong customers will appreciate the dimensions, design and dynamism - characteristics which truly define the B-Class and the R-Class."

Both the interior and exterior design of the new B-Class and the R-Class series reflect the wishes of today's motorists for a car with generous space, exemplary comfort, excellent practicality, and a high level of driving pleasure.
