• Powerful statistics: the new AMG V8 with biturbocharging in the E 63 AMG impresses both with exciting dynamism and what is for this performance class exceptional efficiency. Producing 386 kW and maximum torque of 700 Nm[1], the E 63 AMG accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Its low fuel consumption for this performance class is achieved thanks to features which include direct petrol injection with spray-guided combustion, biturbocharging, generator management and the Controlled-Efficiency transmission mode with start/stop function.
• Sporty transmission: in addition to "Race Start" and automatic double-declutching functions, the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission still provides four individual transmission modes: Controlled Efficiency or "C" for short stands for fuel-efficient motoring, while the programs "S" (Sport), "S+" (Sport Plus) and "M" (Manual) increasing driving dynamics. These modes enable gear changes in less than 100 milliseconds thanks to partial cut-off of individual cylinders when changing up, and a compact, wet start-up clutch replaces the conventional torque converter.
• High-tech suspension: the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension boasts significantly enhanced lateral dynamics, thanks to the wider front axle, and an electronically controlled damping system on the rear axle. It makes it possible to switch quickly between optimum agility and high ride comfort. Not only does it provide a choice of suspension levels comprising "Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport Plus", but the driver can also determine the level of support provided by the ESP? dynamic driving system himself ¡§C with the ON, SPORT and OFF functions.
• New steering system: the AMG speed-sensitive sports steering with more direct ratio complements the suspension by better application of steering movements to the road.
• Optimum braking characteristics: the AMG high-performance braking system featuring 360-mm brake discs all round and highly durable composite technology tested on the race track ensures outstanding levels of deceleration and fade resistance on the front axle.
